This session will review the advanced search commands and analysis features available in Dow Jones Factiva. Data gathered can be used to examine global political, economic and business content from over 14,000 newspapers, magazines and other major journals like Foreign Affairs available in this database. Content is available in over 20 languages; and in addition to current news the platform has an archive of news content back to the 1980s.

This workshop suggests a philosophy and a technical implementation using the for-fee software “Scrivener” (student license $42).

In this workshop we will review some PKM principles, review various information management tools freely available to Tufts students and share practical techniques you can apply to become a more efficient and effective knowledge worker.
