Mes Nacional de la Herencia Hispana or National Hispanic Heritage Month, is celebrated September 15 through Oct 15 to coincide with the independence of several Latin American countries. This year's theme, "Esperanza: A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage and Hope" invites us to consider a better future by holding onto our resilience and hope.
As this NPR article states, the types of stories told during Hispanic Heritage Month are as important as the celebrations happening across the country. Ginn and Tufts librarians have curated a list of books, films and other media that highlight the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history and culture of the US.
