Finding Sources

Books and eBooks

Print and electronic books at Tufts can be discovered through JumboSearch. JumboSearch has both basic and advanced search functions, and books may be searched by title, author, keyword, call number, or Library of Congress subject heading. Printed books held in the Tufts University Libraries will include include a call number and other information to help you identify the physical location of the book.

Electronic books are available online and should include a direct link to the full-text content in the record.

Journals

The Tufts University Libraries subscribe to numerous print and electronic journals. While many of these publications are academic journals which feature peer-reviewed articles written by scholars, some are more popular in nature. Peer review is a process through which an author's peers, other recognized scholars in a field of research, evaluate the quality of an article that has been submitted for publication. These peer scholars then recommend whether the article should be revised, rejected, or published by a journal. When using articles for your research at Fletcher, you will primarily be relying on those from scholarly and peer-reviewed journals.

The eJournals list is the best place to look for our holdings of electronic journals. Both print and electronic journal holdings can also be found in JumboSearch.

Newspapers

Tufts University Libraries subscribe to numerous newspapers both from around the country and around the world. The eJournals list is the best place to look for our holdings of electronic newspapers, while print newspapers are primarily collected at Tisch Library on the Medford campus, and may be searched for using JumboSearch.
