Therapy pets are coming back to Ginn. During reading or exam period each semester, we invite some pets from Tufts' Paws for People, to come visit with the students. This winter we will have three dogs providing comfort. Paws for People is a non-profit associated with the Cummings Veterinary School of Medicine at Tufts. They provide education, evaluation, and mentorship for people looking to use their pets as therapy animals. They also coordinate the pets and handlers, all volunteers, to visit various communities. This is the third year we have Paws for People come visit Ginn Library and the Fletcher students. We have had plenty of dogs visit but rumor has it there is a guinea pig and a minature horse that are also available for visits - maybe next year!
